AGCO is a global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of agricultural equipment, supporting farmers and producers worldwide with innovative machinery and technology. With operations spanning multiple regions and production environments, AGCO relies heavily on operational technology to maintain productivity, safety, and supply chain continuity.
As AGCO’s manufacturing footprint expanded, so did the complexity of its OT environment. Leadership recognized that fragmented asset visibility, inconsistent security processes, and disconnected data sources were limiting the organization’s ability to respond effectively to OT incidents and emerging cyber risks.
Challenge: Fragmented OT Data and Inefficient Security Response
AGCO’s OT assets and processes were managed across multiple tools and systems, resulting in fragmented views of production environments. Critical OT data lacked a centralized home, making it difficult for teams to quickly assess risk, respond to incidents, or manage change consistently across plants.
Several issues emerged:
- OT assets and processes were visible only in isolation, creating inefficiencies and increasing vulnerability exposure
- The absence of centralized OT data hindered informed decision-making and slowed incident response
- Security response processes were not well integrated and lacked the OT-specific context required for effective vulnerability management
- A centralized, trusted view of OT assets and processes
- Improved efficiency through tighter integration between OT assets and production activities
- Stronger OT security posture with contextualized vulnerability response
- Streamlined incident response supported by unified data and workflows
- Consistent governance across OT and IT asset management processes
Without a unified system, teams struggled to correlate OT assets, vulnerabilities, and incidents in a way that supported proactive risk reduction.
Solution: A Unified OT Management Model on ServiceNow
To address these challenges, AGCO partnered with CoreX to design and implement a comprehensive OT Management solution built entirely on ServiceNow Operational Technology Management (OTM).
The solution focused on integrating OT assets directly with production activities using service maps, enabling real-time operational context. OT CMDB processes were aligned with established IT CMDB governance to create a consistent, enterprise-wide approach to asset management.
Visibility was significantly enhanced by centralizing OT configuration items, patching data, and vulnerability information within ServiceNow. Integration with Claroty xDome provided deep OT security insight, allowing vulnerabilities to be detected, analyzed, and addressed within a unified workflow.
Automated vulnerability remediation capabilities were introduced to proactively identify and resolve unresolved risks. By integrating ServiceNow, Claroty xDome, and existing data sources such as Excel, CoreX delivered a centralized data view and executive dashboards that supported faster, more informed decision-making.
Results: Improved Efficiency, Security, and Governance
With ServiceNow OTM at the center of its OT strategy, AGCO transformed how it manages operational technology across its manufacturing environments. The organization achieved:
By breaking down data silos and integrating OT security directly into service management workflows, AGCO established a scalable foundation for managing OT risk and operational resilience.
Summary
This initiative marked a significant step in AGCO’s journey toward modernized OT management. With unified visibility, automated vulnerability response, and centralized governance on ServiceNow, AGCO is now positioned to continuously improve security, operational efficiency, and resilience across its global manufacturing footprint.
The result is an OT environment that is not only more secure, but more responsive, more transparent, and better aligned to the needs of a global industrial enterprise.
