8 Things We're Thankful for in ServiceNow

Written by Brad Bortone | 11/25/25

Thanksgiving is when we slow down, breathe, and take stock of the good stuff. And inside the ServiceNow ecosystem, there's been a lot of good stuff this year, like innovations, global expansion, smarter ways to work, and yes, new ways we've all accidentally broken our own workflows even though the platform was doing exactly what we told it to.

The turkey may get all the attention, but this week, we're giving thanks for the things that made 2025 a remarkable year in ServiceNow.

1. We're thankful AI finally became the teammate we always wanted

Now Assist, RaptorDB, Workflow Data Fabric, and more have quietly transformed the way we work this year. Not in a "replace the humans" way. In a "wow, that actually saved us two hours and three meetings" way.

We're thankful for AI that summarizes without hallucinating, speeds up work without creating more work, and feels integrated into workflows instead of bolted on top of them.

In short, the future showed up, and it's remarkably helpful.

2. We're thankful that customers everywhere tackled their data foundations

It finally happened: people embraced data governance like it people embrace pumpkin flavoring from the moment September rolls around.

CMDB cleanup initiatives took off. CSDM adoption hit new highs. Duplicate CIs met their rightful end. Staleness was shown the door.

And yes, occasionally someone still imported a spreadsheet with mismatched columns at 4:58 PM on a Friday. But the platform handled it with grace.

3. We're thankful platform releases just keep getting smoother

This year's upgrades felt like upgrades, not rebuilds. Better compatibility. Faster testing. Stronger guardrails. Smarter defaults.

And we're especially thankful that the issues we did see were almost always easily rectified (and avoided from that point forward). Turns out, five-year-old custom scripts don't age like fine wine. ServiceNow continues to set the standard for enterprise-grade stability.

4. We're thankful for the global growth of the ecosystem

This felt like the year ServiceNow went from "fast-growing" to everywhere. Continued LATAM momentum. Expansion into OT-heavy industries. Thousands of new developers, architects, and admins joining the community. New solution areas emerging in places we didn't even expect.

It's a global table, and there's always room for more chairs. Especially ones reserved for Idris Elba.

5. We're thankful that OT and IT finally started speaking the same language

This year, manufacturers and utilities deployed ServiceNow to bridge worlds that historically communicated via interpretive dance and hand gestures.

Thanks to workflow-driven OT operations, we saw smarter maintenance, faster outage response, plant-floor-to-cloud collaboration, and fewer "Excel is our sole source of truth" arguments. ServiceNow connected teams that never thought they'd be in the same meeting.

6. We're thankful for low-code innovation that stayed inside the guardrails

App Engine governance, dev standards, and new environment controls made low-code a joy this year.

People built request apps, automation workflows, custom portals, and intelligent routing engines, all while staying neatly within boundaries that kept orgs secure, sane, and scalable.

Of course, there were still a few "enthusiastic experiments." But thankfully, those happened in dev.

7. We're thankful dashboards finally started telling business stories, not just system stories

The big shift this year? Executives saw impact. Faster fulfillment. Shorter procurement cycles. Lower risk. Higher CSAT and NPS. Real operational efficiency. This was the year KPIs felt less like vanity and more like value.

8. We're thankful for implementation partners who raise the bar every year

Across the ecosystem, from boutiques to global firms, partners are committed to doing things the right way.

We're thankful for partners who start with business outcomes, build on a clean data foundation, stay aligned to product vision, deliver incrementally, and focus on sustainable growth. Their work made this year's transformations not just successful, but durable.

And most of all, we're thankful for the people...

The platform succeeds because the people behind it do. This year brought more user groups, more open-source utilities, more knowledge sharing, more mentorship, and more innovation than ever before.

It's a community where people go beyond solving problems to help others avoid them altogether.

From platform owners to developers to architects to analysts to program managers, and everyone at ServiceNow who keeps the platform evolving, this ecosystem thrives on human effort.

We're thankful for the people who stay late to map services with precision, fix the workflows that mysteriously break, ensure governance keeps pace with innovation, advocate for better processes, and turn business complexity into elegant simplicity.

The platform gives us the power. The people make it work.

Here's to another year of innovation, collaboration, clean data, beautiful workflows, and AI that keeps getting smarter. May your upgrades be smooth, your CIs be current, and your holiday outages be nonexistent.
